A crash involving a five-tonne truck and a minivan on Highway 400 claimed the life of a motorist on Wednesday afternoon.

The collision occurred in the southbound lanes, south of Highway 89, shortly after 1 p.m.

The truck had been parked on the shoulder when a minivan lost control and slammed into its rear, Ontario Provincial Police said.
