People often get somewhat sentimental when it comes to their car. And why not – car is one of the most important as well as cherished investments that we make, perhaps the second in line after a home. Therefore, buying a new or used car is one of the most important decisions of your life and so is caring for it. The concern becomes even graver when it comes to buying and caring for luxury cars and exotic cars. Luxury cars are never absolute necessities and the primary function they serve is to add to the comfort and pleasure, which is why maintaining exotic cars demand greater care than usual.
One thing you should know before actually deciding to buy one of those luxury cars is that they need luxury maintenance and high upkeep expenses. So if you were thinking about buying exotic cars through financing, it will not be a very good idea because one instance of careless driving can actually cause you a fortune. Therefore, it is sensible for opting for one of those luxury cars or exotic cars when you are sure about your finances and are convinced of being able to keep up with the cars expensive maintenance costs.
Finding out what exactly constitutes luxury cars can be a very tricky task because the criteria most often vary and the options are vivid according the manufacturers, to the basic technologies that go behind these luxury cars and the features that the vehicles offer. Nowadays, the options are even more with wagons, SUVs, and compacts racing the way through along with luxury and exotic cars. Today’s luxury and exotic cars are defined by creature comfort, drivability and convenience. The criteria are evidently subjective and when you decide upon buying a luxury car for yourself and your family, being able to decide on all of these three is vital.
Furthermore, the luxury and exotic cars are a statement of prestige. However, what primarily set luxury cars and usual utility vehicles apart are the former’s engineering, comfort and convenience. Things such quality leather seating, carpeting, quiet and stabilized ride, solid build, smooth engine, etc are crucial towards making what they are. There are more to a luxury car, such as incredible sound systems, in-dash screens, and automated technologies letting the cars parallel park themselves. The safety features of these luxury cars are also evolving slowly and steadily for making driving even safer and relaxed.
There are many manufacturers of luxury and exotic cars today, among whom BMW cars, Lincoln, Cadillac and Mercedes-Benz cars are the pioneers. While exotic sports cars occupy the pinnacle of car manufacturing industry, these cars, as already stated, are not only expensive to purchase but need high upkeep and maintenance costs. These luxury cars are extremely delicate and might cause a great deal of trouble when even the smallest of their components malfunction. These elegant beauties need extreme care and handling by experienced professionals, or their incredible power might go wrong in wrong hands. However, these cars are the ones to make legends and everyone dreams of owning them.

After a century of hard work, Ford Motor Company now stands as one of the world’s largest automakers. This American automotive manufacturing giant embarked on humble beginnings through the passion and vision of Henry Ford in 1903 at the company’s shabby assembly lines in Detroit, Michigan. As Ford purchases a variety of the raw materials that it uses in the production of Ford parts from numerous suppliers around the world, it also sells its cars and trucks everywhere after they are produced from about a hundred different development and manufacturing facilities. Although it suffered from management troubles in the 1950s and struggled in the 1970s and 1980s with the tough competition presented by the Japanese imports, the company eventually regained its pioneering glory as it became the brand of almost half of all the cars in the United States. In 2005, the company sold approximately 6,818,000 vehicles all over the world. By now, it has stretched its long line of brand names to include Mercury, Lincoln, Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin.
Ford Motor Company offers a reputable variety of trucks that are fit for the toughest conditions. Each of its truck models is manufactured with the finest materials that garner the most positive approval even from other automakers. Only best-in-class Ford truck parts are fitted into these prestigious models. Moreover, security and strength is indisputably outstanding. When it comes to fuel economy, the efficient integration of various Ford parts let the brand’s four-wheeled beasts zoom across miles and miles. Amazingly, even original reproduction of restoration parts for antique Car, classic car for sale, and obsolete Ford car models can be still purchased to supply the genuine function for which Ford truck parts are intended.
When Ford makes its trucks, its main concern is to make all of its merchandise meticulously made. As it is a company whose concern lies not only on the name it holds but also on the excellent products and services that it is able to provide as response to the needs of its clients, .on consumer demands, Ford parts are ultimately turned into a mirrors. They give back exactly what people want together with the premium quality that is exactly what Ford is about.

For the past ten years, Volvo has been moving away from their reputation of making boxy cars. While the original design is an effort of the company in relation to their “safety first” philosophy, competition have upped the ante in terms of designs in an effort to attract younger buyers that will remain loyal to them. The logical step therefore is for Volvo to design stylish car in consonance with today’s standards. But the effort to alter their tried and tested design must be done while still keeping the safety of their customers in mind. This evolution in the design of Volvo cars is apparent in its first entry to the compact luxury car market which is the Volvo C30.
The car’s exterior, designed by Simon Lamarre, is a testament to the company’s effort to connect with the younger generation of car buyers. The Volvo C30 car for sale is a combination of modern styling and a touch of past styling evident on the coupe’s glass tailgate. The designed penned by the Canadian-born designer relies on the long rear side windows, rear side panels, and the rear window with upright taillights on each side to catch the attention of its prospective buyers. The interior of the Volvo C30 is designed to impress, with its floating center stack as the first thing that anyone will notice upon entering the vehicle.
The car is essentially a four seater but the compact design of the coupe makes access to the second row of seats a little bit hard. But the car is intended by Volvo to be used as a two seater with extra luggage space. With this in mind, the second row of seats can be folded down to increase its luggage capacity to 32 cubic feet from a meager 10 cubic feet with the second row of seats in an upright position. The sloping roof of the coupe limits the view to the rear and decreases the headspace for anyone sitting on the second row.
Safety is once again emphasized by Volvo in the development of the car; after all, the Ford Motor Company subsidiary is known the world over by their safety-first attitude towards car production. The coupe car for sale has the standard airbags and safety belts which are the most advanced in any vehicle in the market. It also carries with it two safety systems just recently developed and employed by Volvo on their cars. One of the systems is the BLIS technology or Blindspot Information System which uses cameras to alert the driver if any car has entered his blindspot. Another system being employed by the car is IDIS or Intelligent Driver Information System which will suppress text messages and non-critical warnings when it senses that the driver is working the car hard. The system does this with the aid of sensors that checks the steering, throttle, and brakes and turn signals.

Havana is a potent mixture of the old and the new. Modern office buildings punctuate the skyline alongside deteriorating Eastern European residential towers. Ancient vehicles, some with more rust than paint, share the road with newer, shinier models, while horse-drawn carts mingle with motorcycles. Flea markets display Cuba holiday mementos - wooden models of cars built in the 1950s, which are still seen on Cuban streets.
‘Yank tank’, ‘máquina’ ‘cacharro’ and ‘bartavia’ are all words used to describe the American classic cars in Cuba. It is the only place where history and circumstance have combined to enable a whole society to preserve these amazing vehicles and turn them into a national treasure.
About 150,000 classic cars for sale existed at the time of the 1959 Cuban Revolution when the U.S. imposed a trade embargo on Cuba. After this, international trade was made very difficult, so the cars that were present at the time have been nurtured and cared for ever since.
Of the 60,000 classic cars in Cuba, about half are from the 50s, another 25 percent from the 40s and a similar number from the 30s. There are classic Chevrolet cars, classic Chrysler cars, classic Ford cars, classic Dodge cars, etc seen on Cuba’s roads today.
Nostalgia :
As a clash of cultures and ideologies, few experiences compare with that of rounding a corner in the heart of Old Havana with its crumbling baroque buildings and coming face to face with a gleaming 1955 Thunderbird that looks as if it had just been driven off the lot.
Cubans are increasingly aware of the value of classic cars, particularly when visiting Americans become nostalgic about them. They realize that there is business to be made from hiring them out, and it is therefore possible for those on holiday to Cuba to hire out a classic car for the duration of their stay. Although there are more classic cars in the US overall, an American would have to go to Cuba to see a concentration of the cars filling the streets like a snapshot of 50s USA come to life.
Cuba holiday makers feel they have stepped into a time warp to that perhaps more innocent age, when Americans sported prim and proper outfits and drove shiny, sparkly-wheeled cars in brilliant colours with fins and chrome bumpers. The cars made driving feel special. The size of them and the comfort gave a calm feeling for a time when people were able to take their time and enjoy the good things in life.
Care & Attention :
While classic cars are still used for daily transportation, often as taxis, they have also become cherished heirlooms handed down from generation to generation within families, in some cases going all the way back to the 30s.
Most owners of classic cars and antique cars spend hours applying waxes and polishes and basking in the praise and admiration of passers-by. Some even reminisce about a time when their cars were new, and life itself seemed brighter and as inviting as an open highway.
To own one of these vintages defines who you are, how you spend your time and how you wish to be known, and Cubans will go to incredible lengths to keep their classic cars running. 1950’s bumpers and tailpipes are recreated and myriad other parts are adapted. Steering wheels carved from wood, hub cabs made from aluminum cans and plastic sheets for windows are common. While such shortcuts would be frowned upon in the United States, classic car lovers admire the Cubans’ ingenuity and their ability to keep the cars running.
The Future for Classic Cars in Cuba :
Each day these cars get closer to extinction. They are now outnumbered by boxy Russian Ladas, Volga sedans and more recent Eastern European and Japanese imports. But the biggest threats to Cuba’s classic cars are the scarcity of parts and lack of original factory literature to maintain them with uniform standards.
Hopefully they will still be preserved for years to come, even if they become increasingly temperamental with all the alterations they go through. If you’re thinking of hiring a classic car on your Cuba holiday make sure to make a ceremonial splash of rum on the car’s floorboard for good luck!

Your car is bursting at the seams with children, sports equipment, groceries and pets. You think it may be time to trade up to a larger car. But is an SUV the right choice to make for your family?
First and foremost, as anyone who watches the evening news knows, the price of gas has skyrocketed and SUVs are notorious for poor gas mileage. Or are they? Depending on what make and model of SUV you choose, some get as good or better gas mileage than some large cars. For example, the 2004 Honda Element Car for sale gets 22 miles to the gallon in the city, just 2 miles per gallon less than the 2004 Honda Accord. At highway speeds, the Element gets 8 miles per gallon less than the Accord, a larger, but not huge, difference Also, more and more auto manufacturers are designing hybrid gas-electric SUVs that provide better gas mileage along with the traditional extra space and power of SUVs.
Another major consideration when choosing between a car and an SUV is safety. Most people assume that, because of their larger size, that SUVs are safer than cars. However, crash tests conducted in 2003 proved that large SUVs were only slightly safer than mid-sized cars and were actually slightly more dangerous than large cars. SUVs also can roll over when taking turns at high speed, something that cars are far less likely to do. Drivers who are switching to new or used SUV cars after many years of driving cars may need some practice to learn to drive their SUV safely.
Many people think that SUVs, due to their larger size are more comfortable and have more cargo capacity than new or used cars. To a certain extent this is true, but it depends heavily on what make and model of SUV you choose. Some SUVs actually have limited cargo space, though almost all have the power to haul a trailer. As far as comfort, many drivers prefer being higher up from the road, but older drivers and those with disabilities may have a hard time getting into the raised seats. Additionally, buckling a child into a car seat installed in the recommended back seat center position may be difficult for shorter moms and dads.
Finally, if you do a lot of city driving and, more importantly, parking, SUVs are less maneuverable and harder to parallel park than traditional cars. Even in the suburbs where most people park in lots, the spaces may not be wide enough for certain SUVs.

You got loads of money and you’re in the market to buy a brand new luxury car! Congratulations! You still have to earn that money to buy your car. But it won’t hurt if you start dreaming about it now, right?
So, what are you buying? The power an SUV provides? Or would you go for the sleek sporty personality of a sedan? We have met a lot of buyers who have been mulling about this dilemma even right at the point of purchase. Here are some considerations that may help you decide:
SPORTS UTILITY VEHICLE :
Originally designed for off-roads and difficult terrains, a Sport Utility Vehicle is designed with a body-on-frame chassis, high clearance, and packed with superior brute force.
Sports Utility Vehicles are the popular choice of vehicles for African safari, Australian outbacks, wilderness in Alaska, and the rough terrains of Asia. It is naturally not difficult then to associate this vehicle to someone who leads a life of adventure, an outdoorsman, or someone who is strong and dependable.
With this background of a Sports Utility Vehicle, there is now an emerging popularity among the rich and the famous to prefer SUVs to the usual sedans and sportscars. New or used SUV cars for sale prove to be a convenient type of vehicle even in an urban setting. While rarely using its inherent superior engine power, an SUV can come in handy in deep snow and in pulling caravans, and trailers boats.
As more city dwellers drive SUVs, more have expressed displeasure with its truck-like rigid driving and gas-guzzling engines. Manufacturers appropriately respond with new models that are way much improved as they drive like cars, more luxurious cab features and accessories, and are more fuel efficient.
Here are some of the more popular SUVs: Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota Land Cruiser, Land Rover Discovery, Ford Explorer. Furthermore, as an answer to some allegations that an SUVs high center of gravity means increased probability of turning turtle, the manufacturers came up with cross over SUVs with lower center of gravity, more car-like features and design, but with the same brute power and much improved traction control and suspension. Here are some of the more popular cross over SUVs: Mitsubishi Airtrek, Toyota Rav4, Volvo XC90.
SEDANS :
Sedans are hands-down winners when it comes to handling and maneuverability. They are more fuel efficient, and the new models now have luxurious features that are otherwise not standard in most SUVs (except the real high-end ones.)
New or used sedan cars for sale are sleek and sexier; they won’t dwarf you down when you stand beside it. They are more practical for everyday use, easier to park, can do faster acceleration and are easier to wash.
Sedans are the most basic types of automobiles. They are passenger cars, usually with four doors and two rows of seat with lots of space for adults at the rear compartment. It usually has a separate compartment that serves as storage trunk for loads at the rear.
The different types of sedans are: notchback sedans, fastback sedans, two-door sedans, hard top sedans, hatchback sedans and chauffeured sedans.

In 1971 the Dodge Super Bee car moved from the Dodge Cars (Coronet) to the Charger line since the 1971 Coronet was only available in sedan and station wagon models. From 1971, all four-door B-bodies were Coronets and all two-door B-bodies were Chargers. The all new third generation Dodge Charger car was restyled with a new grill and a more rounded bodystyle, hidden headlights were no longer standard, they became optional. . The look of the 1971 Charger was in comparison to the 1968-1970 GTOs.
A rear spoiler and a “Ramcharger” hood were added to the opotion list. A special scoop was mounted in the hood above the air cleaner allowing clean air to go directly into the carguretor by pulling a lever that was placed under the dash. This device was called the “air grabber tool” originally used in Plymouth’s Roadrunner, the Coronet R/T and Super Bees, this was the first it was used on the Charger.
In 1971 only 63 Hemi versions were built, 2,659 were built with other engines. 1971 was the last year for the 426 Hemi “elephant engine”, it was also the end of the 440 Six-Pack engine. 1971 was the one and only year the small block (340 4-bbl) was available in the Super Bee. Although the 440 Magnum (4-bbl) was not an option in the 1971 Super Bee, 26 are known to have been built. With this option the 440 Super Bee walked all over any Ford, Chevy, or GM product on the market.

A large part of the ‘Value for Money’ aspect when it comes to automobiles, vans included, is the mileage. These are the findings according to recently released data:
The Chevrolet Van 1500/2500 2WD, 6 cylinders, 4.3 L, Automatic (4), running on regular gasoline, has a mileage of 15 to 20 mpg depending on city or highway driving. The GMC Savana 1500/2500 2WD 6 cylinder, 4.3 L, Automatic (4), running on regular gasoline, has a mileage of 15 to 20 mpg depending on city or highway driving. The Mazda 5, 4 cylinder, 2.3 L, Manual (5), running on regular gasoline, has a mileage of 20 to 28 mpg. The Mazda 5, 4 cylinder, 2.3 L, Automatic (S5), running on regular gasoline, has a mileage of 21 to 27 mpg.
The Chevrolet Express’ range of options and astounding seating capacity makes it stand out amongst other passenger vans. Being a long time favourite with trades people, and being used for shuttle services, the new Chevrolet Express sticks to its roots. The four models, the 1500, 2500, 3500 and 3500 EXT, can all be designed to be used either as passenger or work vans. Despite not having some of the accessories that its counterparts do, it does the job of moving lots of people and cargo alike. The Express can accommodate up to 15 people and has six options when it comes to the engine. The interior is made up of tough plastic and cloth, with fine finishing, and the controls are simple and straightforward.
The GMC Savana, too, has a range of options when it comes to the engine. Available in the 1500, 2500 and 3500 versions, each has a separate Cargo and Passenger version. The Cargo 2500 and 3500 and the Passenger 3500 come with extended wheelbases. Dull interiors, and a below par capacity when it comes to cargo space, are deterrent factors. With a trustworthy cutaway chassis though, the Savana serves well as a cargo van and a passenger van for personal use. Its factors of comfort, strength and ability to tow trailers along, are added feathers in its cap. The Mazda 5, a true mini-van at heart, has the versatility to move between a cargo set-up and minivan-like seating. One of the most affordable vehicles in its class, what it lacks is the zing that is usually associated with Mazda engines. A new automatic transmission (5 speed) along with an auxiliary input jack that connects music players to the car stereo are in place in the new Mazda 5. Available in the Touring, Grand Touring and Sport versions, they all have same four cylinder engines and are built on Ford’s C1-platform. With a small turning radius, parking too is made easier.
The Ford Econoline has offers good value for money. Despite there being no change in design since 1996, the roomy interior and a range of engine options to choose from make this an interesting option. The E-150 XL and XLT are the passenger van options and can seat 7 to 8 passengers. The E-350 models, mainly designed for commercial use, are more powerful and can carry up to 15 people in the model with the extended length. The interiors and the safety features though can have one wanting something better.
Irrespective of the choice made while buying a van, one aspect that needs to be looked at is the van insurance policy.By looking at all the factors you’ll find your van selection that whole lot more easier.
